Inclusive scale.

A scale that includes everyone when it comes to weighing.

Emilia, a blind woman, was the inspiration. Today more people with disabilities use it: those who cannot see and those who do not understand numbers.

Finalists, Premios Innovamos 2026

A partnership between non-profit organizations, the State, international cooperation and companies.

With the right support,
every one of us can.

Weighing without depending on someone else is autonomy. And autonomy is dignity.

BEFORE

Weighing depended on reading a screen. Many people could not do it.

AFTER

Today, people who could not weigh before do it on their own.

Simple to use. For everyone.

Touch keyboard or Braille, guided by voice, colors and symbols.

  1. Enter the weight

With the touch keyboard or the Braille one. The scale repeats it out loud.

    • Add more
    • Take some out
    • Right weight

    Weigh

Colors and voice tell you if it needs more or if you went over.

  2. Done!

When the weight is right, it tells you with voice and music.

“Nothing about us without us.”

The autonomy and integrity of people with disabilities are the starting point. That is why every prototype was developed together with them: they tested it, gave their opinion and asked for improvements. Technology makes sense when it serves people. Never the other way around.

From knowing nothing about sensors to a product.

  1. Working with the Japanese mentor at a computer, during the scholarship in Tokyo.

    The question

A JICA scholarship in Japan and one project: helping Emilia weigh on her own.

  2. A worker at the Granja weighs cream in a bowl on the first prototype, surrounded by the team.

    The prototype

A tray, some wires and a version to validate the idea.

  3. Group photo in the garden of Granja Andar: workers dressed in white with the project team.

    Testing

At Granja Andar they asked for more speed, clarity and louder sounds.

  4. The INTI team with Belén and the experts from Japan.

    The product

INTI turned it into a robust and safe product.

  5. Emilia, in kitchen clothes, rests her hands on the keyboard of the blue scale.

    Today

In use at the Granja. And we are going for 10 more.

Three keys.

Teamwork

Granja Andar, INTI, SAMECO, JICA, Moretti and M5Stack. Each one brought what the others did not have.

Continuous improvement

Test, listen to the people who use it, adjust. And start again.

Technology

Sensors, voice and artificial intelligence, serving people.

Our challenge now

10 scales for 10 sheltered workshops.

We build them and donate them. Each one opens up a task that used to be only for others.

The blue E1000-IA scale, with its keyboard and screen, next to the Moretti commercial scale on the kitchen counter.
Free to use

Build it yourself.

Technical report, drawings and assembly guide. To use it or to sell it. Creative Commons license.
